About This Item

Remove loose undercoat before it ends up on your furniture, floors, and clothes.

Shedding is unavoidable in double-coated breeds — but most of that loose fur doesn’t have to end up on your sofa. The ShedEase™ Deshedding Rake uses stainless steel teeth angled and spaced to penetrate through the topcoat and pull loose undercoat out before it detaches naturally. One thorough session removes significantly more fur than a standard brush — reducing shedding around the home for days afterward.

Why Pet Parents Choose ShedEase™

🦴 Stainless Steel Deshedding Teeth

The stainless steel teeth are angled and spaced specifically to reach through the topcoat and engage the loose undercoat — the layer responsible for the majority of shedding. Standard brushes only address the surface coat; the ShedEase™ targets the source.

🐕 Works on All Double-Coated Breeds

Effective on all double-coated dogs and long-haired cats — Labradors, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Huskies, Corgis, Maine Coons, Persians, and any breed with a dense undercoat. Also suitable for medium-coated breeds prone to seasonal shedding.

🔧 Ergonomic Non-Slip Handle

The non-slip handle provides a secure, comfortable grip during longer grooming sessions — reducing hand fatigue when working through a thick coat. Balanced weight distribution makes it easy to control the pressure applied.

✂️ Knot-Cutting Capability

The tooth configuration also helps work through minor tangles and knots in the topcoat — reducing the need for a separate detangling tool for most coat types.

🐈 Suitable for Dogs and Long-Haired Cats

Works effectively on both dogs and long-haired cats. Use with lighter pressure on cats, whose skin is more sensitive than dogs’.

How to Deshed Effectively with ShedEase™

For best results, follow this grooming sequence:

  1. Ensure your pet’s coat is dry and free of major tangles before deshedding — wet coats are harder to work through and can cause the teeth to drag.
  2. Work in sections, starting from the neck and moving toward the tail.
  3. Brush in the direction of coat growth using long, smooth strokes.
  4. Apply gentle, consistent pressure — enough to reach the undercoat without pressing into the skin.
  5. Clear accumulated fur from the teeth every few strokes to maintain effectiveness.
  6. Finish with a standard slicker brush to remove any remaining loose surface fur.

Tip: Deshedding is most effective during seasonal coat blows (spring and autumn for most double-coated breeds). During peak shedding, a session every 2–3 days significantly reduces the amount of fur shed around the home.

Ideal For

  • Double-coated dog breeds — Labradors, Huskies, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Corgis, Samoyeds
  • Long-haired cats — Maine Coons, Persians, Ragdolls, Norwegian Forest Cats
  • Seasonal shedding management — spring and autumn coat blows
  • Households where pet fur on furniture and floors is a daily frustration
  • Owners who want to reduce the frequency of professional grooming appointments

Important: Technique & Skin Safety

Apply gentle, consistent pressure — do not press the teeth firmly into the skin. The ShedEase™ is designed to engage the undercoat, not the skin. If your pet shows signs of discomfort, reduce pressure and check that you’re working with the coat growth direction, not against it.

Not recommended for short single-coated breeds (e.g. Greyhounds, Whippets, Boxers) where there is no undercoat to remove.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I deshed my dog?

For most double-coated breeds, once a week during normal periods and every 2–3 days during seasonal coat blows (spring and autumn). Regular deshedding sessions significantly reduce the amount of fur shed around the home between sessions.

Will it work on my short-haired dog?

The ShedEase™ is designed for double-coated and long-haired breeds. For short single-coated breeds with no undercoat, a rubber grooming mitt or soft bristle brush is more appropriate.

Is it safe for cats?

Yes, for long-haired cats. Use with lighter pressure than you would on a dog — cat skin is more sensitive. Work in short sections and watch for any signs of discomfort. Not recommended for short-haired cats.

How do I clean the brush?

Pull accumulated fur from the teeth after each use — most fur releases easily by hand. For a deeper clean, use a fine-tooth comb to clear fur from between the teeth. Wipe the handle with a damp cloth. Do not submerge in water.

Less Fur on Your Furniture. More Calm in Your Home.

A well-groomed coat sheds less, tangles less, and is more comfortable for your pet. Regular deshedding is one of the highest-impact grooming habits you can build — and the ShedEase™ makes it faster and more effective than any standard brush.

Reach the undercoat. Remove the source. Shed less.
