How to Use the Traffic Handle Effectively

Yes. The heavy-duty metal snap hook and robust webbing are rated for large breeds. The bungee section is most effective at absorbing the sudden lunge force common in powerful breeds like Labradors, German Shepherds, Huskies, and Staffies.
Does the bungee section make the leash feel loose?
At rest, the leash behaves like a standard fixed-length leash. The bungee section only extends under sudden load — it doesn’t create slack during normal walking. You’ll notice the difference only when your dog lunges.
Can I use it with a front-clip harness?
Yes. The snap hook attaches to any standard D-ring — front-clip harness, back-clip harness, or collar. For reactive dogs, a front-clip harness combined with the ShockWalk™ gives the best combination of redirection and shock absorption.
Is it suitable for smaller dogs?
The ShockWalk™ is designed for medium to large dogs where pulling force is significant. For small dogs, the bungee section provides less benefit as the forces involved are lower — a standard fixed leash is usually sufficient.
